When the time of the death of the Prophet approached while there were some men in the house, and among them was 'Umar Ibn al-Khattab, the Prophet said: "Come near let me write for you a writing after which you will never go astray." 'Umar said: "The Prophet is seriously ill, and you have the Qur'an, so Allah's Book is sufficient for us." The people in the house differed and disputed. Some of them said, "Come near so that Allah's Apostle may write for you a writing after which you will not go astray," while the others said what 'Umar said. When they made much noise and quarreled greatly in front of the Prophet, he said to them, "Go away and leave me." Ibn 'Abbas used to say, "It was a great disaster that their quarrel and noise prevented Allah's Apostle from writing a statement for them.

clearly the prophet knew that something wrong was going to happen after he passed away and wanted to help his followers. omar stopped him and after his death he became one of the khaliphas... is this what the prophet was trying to stop? his followers from following the wrong people ( omar)
@the white horse.

why was there so many wars when ali was the caliphate? because omar corrupted islam. when the truly leader stepped up to his position the corruption omar and the previous caliphates caused were against him
so what if under Omar's rule he managed to kill other nations. the americans right now and other Nations at the time kill there enemies without problems like omar did. those that mean they are right? no. just because omar managed to kill other people doesn't make him a right leader for islam...
@rosy pearl. why are you making nonsense up? i source all my arguments but unlike you, you simply state that the prophet told the first caliphate his information. which means nothing without evidence because it can be made up
@ rosy pearl. the prophet was telling his followers to bring him some paper and ink. he wasn't joking around or doing it because he was bored. he was doing it for the good of his followers and omar outright denied him. there is no mercy in this. the prophet was in even more pain by Omar's denial because he knew that we would split up into sects and fight each other. omar didn't show mercy he caused the prophet more pain!
