Do you think my car will be totaled? Can I get the auto repair car to pay for damages?

I was driving a 2004 Mazda 3 Hatchback today at around 35 mph. I was coming to a curve so I pressed my brakes to slow down. The brakes failed and the car spun out and flew backwards, took out a metal chain link fence, and landed in a ditch.

The front bumper is completely gone, the radiator is very slightly bent inward, and something cracked a leaked. I'm not the best with cars, but it's a plastic square on the right passenger's side. Whatever that is cracked. According to the tow truck guy, there doesn't appear to be any damage to the frame. I just wanted a general opinion as to whether these 3 things are enough to total the car. The sides, and oddly enough, the back of the car were not at all damaged, nor were the headlights or the hood of the car.

Also, I'm upset about this brake failure. The brakes were acting weird so I got the whole car serviced and they fixed the brakes and a few other things that were wrong, replaced old parts, etc. This cost about 2000 all together. This was relatively recent, maybe a couple of months ago. I then got a brake inspection 3 weeks ago and they told me the brakes were completely fine. How is it that my brakes failed then? I mean, the brake pedal went all the way down to the floor and the car did not slow down at all. Can I get the people who supposedly fixed my brakes to pay for the damage? They obviously did a really crappy job.
