I am writing a thesis about Men's magazines -Maxim and GQ- and masculinity. AND NEED HELP!
Do you think they perpetuate traditional masculine traits (control, aggression, independence, etc.)? Do you think they represent men or they are creating an image for men to follow? Do you think men learn masculinity from these men's magazines?

But did GQ really refine masculinity? Or does it rely on the stereotypical masculine traits- like control, aggression, independence, etc- just with new interests? Are the interests of style and fashion enough to change a construction of masculinity? These magazines do look at feminine topics now, which they havnt before- like fashion, relationships, sex, health, etc.?
