Do you think it's weird that i don't care about going to prom?

I've been asked to go by a few girls but I feel like it's a waste of money(about $80) to pay for something which is basically a school dance with extra decorations and pictures, and then renting out or buying a tux. I feel like movies and t.v makes this whole prom thing seem like such a big deal. The only thing that seems like fun to me is the limo/bus. But ever since this kid fell out of a party bus window they have been strict about things which means we probably can't even drink, so i see no point in going on the bus. Do you think i'll be missing out on a big part of highschool if i don't go to prom?
 
That depends. If you're a very sentimental dude, then you'll be missing a lot. But if you just don't care that much about your social life (like me. lol), it wouldn't make much difference.
