Do you think it's sexist to make boys' and girls' bikes differently?

When I was a boy the pedal on my bike fell off when i was pushing down to pedal on one and a fell onto the bar of the frame; that hurt a lot, and I can't help wondering why the boys' bikes aren't the ones with the lower frame bar and the girls' bikes be the ones with the high bar.

Is it sexist saying that girls aren't capable of lifting their legs high enough to reach over that bar or is it from some sexual hangup of male designers thinking it unladylike to lift their legs high in the air?
