Do you think its racist to criticise a cultural norm? For example, education is...

...an important factor that is? pushed in Asian culture..now thats a positive..but we're afraid to say the negative.

FOR EXAMPLE...in Toronto there is gun culture in the Jamaican community..its wrong to say 'all blacks in the ghetto, gun culture blah blah blah..'' not tur in tirnidadian communities or dominican communities, but its tru in jamaican culture. Any club in Toronto, the VAST majority of the gun violence in a country that doesnt legalize guns occur in predominantly 'black' clubs....and if you disagree with me...how do you justify the very low gun violence in predominantly white or asian clubs/bars...its CULTURAL! not race, i dont give a fuck about race, its culture

This is a shaky topic when you specify the "black" culture, such as the black culture in the US because carrying guns, being in gangs, and disregarding education is prevalent among black people in the US, no doubt, but that doesnt necessarily make it a culture because there are several blacks that highly value education, speak against gangs, and dont have guns. Just because it is common in a society does not mean that it is their culture. There are so many factors you have to consider, for example; many of the blacks who are troubled and do carry guns and join gangs and deal drugs, many of them fall into the trap that our society has made for them. In fact it is really hard not to fall into it. Its hard not to deal drugs when your mom can barely feed you and your brothers. Its hard not to carry a gun in clubs when you fear for your life every day from other gang bangers or drug dealers. You see what i mean? Yes it is a pattern, but its the same pattern that any race can fall into. Doesnt mean its a culture for that whole race. I could go alot further but I'll stop myself now. lol.

Its more of a mentallity thing.

Fact is different people, races, backgrounds etc have different mentallity. Thats not to say every single person in that group is same but if you compare groups then there is always some group different then the other.

Blacks in general have always been kind of inferior, backward etc. Human Nature i suppose. Why u think they were enslaved? because they werent smart enough to defend themselves. That mentallity still exists today within this group, not every single one but like i said if you compare different ethnic groups to others then majority of a group is different.

Peace!!!.......

HEY!!!! im jamaican i do not carry a gun! fyi, i am very well behaved and mannered and respectful, along with my whole rest of my jamaican family.

and i know what you mean, you dont mean to generalize on race, but its nots good to do it on culture either, now youre stereotyping on all of a people in the culture, its just as bad.
