esteem regarding weight? So often I hear that the media shouldn't be pushing skinny girls in our faces or that celebrities are making the average person feel that they need to be thinner or more attractive. But do you really believe that? First of all, I think anyone has any right to be whatever weight they feel comfortable being. Sure celebrities are under the spotlight, but they still have a right to be thin. I especially don't think they should share in the blame for eating disorders. And honestly, most celeb diets that I've read about have all been very healthy. Just things like cutting out processed foods and such. Of coarse, there are the Linday Lohans out there who have eating disorders, but that doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone out there...especially in comparison to someone like a Victoria's Secret models ( who all maintain a very healthy diet).
Basically, I think that blaming celebrities is just an excuse for insecurities that would already be in people's heads. Anyone can feel comfortable in whatever body they have.
EDIT: It's interesting to see other's view points. Also, when I say 'celebrity' I mean fashion magazines as well.
