Do you think its a good idea if i wait until mid november to apply to colleges?

The first term ends November 1st and I kind of want to wait until then to show colleges that I am doing much better this year since I did bad last year and only got a 19 on my ACT. I took a lot of honors and AP classes last year and this year I took a lot of honors but I'm doing much better- like straight A's. I just went through a lot last year but is that a good idea to wait? thanks!
I want to start school i the Fall of '10
