a child being starved to death comes second to the football results in terms of press coverage?
I agree very storngly with all of you & accept the point on Burma - although god knows we have offered help - you can't help people who won't help themselves!

yeah it's a discrace and it happens every week,

i mean the football riots in manchester the other week that was front page news and the first thing on the news on tv,,, but that same night a 12year old boy was tricked by a man into looking for his dog and dragged into woods and raped, that was on the news but not till after they reported the football it's a discrace

I think that it is a disgrace that we have to pay out of our taxes to the Social workers who can't do there job properly. All i have heard from many people that social workers are no good to anyone so why are they have not been improved or the system changed. Why is it that this kid got unnoticed for so long. People next door to each other now a days have no contact with each other because they are to scared of everybody else, it is more safer keeping your self to your self, what is wrong with society today. I think going to school some one should have noticed and it should be a rule to contact an authority that can handle this situation. If they did not go to school, someone still should have been checking there progress.

People die everyday but the likes of Football should not take centre stage, the media does this because they know what most people are interested in SAD REALLY.

But what about all the kids born in to drug, drink abuse family's and severe mental health problems everyday, nothing is done for them until something happens then we have to pay for them through tax again. I recon people with severe problems like this should not be aloud to have children (sterilised) because it is not the child's fault or choice to be born in this situation and they are more likely to become there parents because they have had no other guidance. This is not a breach of human rights it is just stopping potential suffering.
