Do you think I could swing this with my budget?

I have a 250,000 dollar college budget. I was thinking about going to a state University for three years, then traveling to England for my senior year. Do you think this would work out? I'm only a Sophomore, but has anyone ever had experience traveling abroad? Was it worth being away from family, etc?

Definite yes. My sister went to school in England her junior year and it was definitely worth it. It definitely broadened the job market for her when she graduated. Not to mention the friends she made abroad. I just wish I had done the same. As far as the budget is concerned, work now and save extra for your plans and also start doing research now on available scholarships. Also, check with different schools, both public and private, many of them have overseas programs. It all depends on what field of study you are planning to undertake.

Usually the study abroad programs are designed for juniors, not seniors.
Many people find the study abroad programs to be very rewarding, and often return to those countries after graduation for advanced degrees or work. But it's a personal decision, no one else can decide what is right for you.
