Twilight Zone? I think horror movies now mostly focus on gore and visuals and try to shock the viewer. The Twilight Zone focused on story, characters, suspense and good writing. You care about what's going and ipso facto you're affected by the outcome. I have never heard anyone say they laughed at the
Twilight Zone (though there might be some) unless it's one of the funny episodes, like the one with Burgess Meredith for example. It’s so well made. Do you think if horror movies were more often made Twilight Zone-esque (with the criteria I mentioned earlier not copying of course) they would not be laughed at as much, but be taken more seriously?
Good point, Malachi.
