Do you think gender identity or sexuality can influence hormones?

I'm a bisexual woman (more or less, I'm in my early teens, haha) and I have unusually high levels of testosterone that rage hell on my periods, I'm getting medicated for it. But I'm a two-spirit, (androgynous personality, soul, spirit, etc) and I kind of wonder if it's physiological. I don't know, I'm just rambling and it's one AM, but do you believe that if you were a woman but a man on the inside, or both, or vice versa, you could alter your natural hormones and body functions (not consciously, or enough to see very many external changes, just enough to throw 'nature' out of whack) to be more attuned with your spirit, or true gender?
Just a kind of warm thought.
