Do you think education should be free up until the PHD level?

No, because to do so would force lower-paid taxpapers to subsidize students who will earn more than them. In this sense, free education at the tertiary level is regressive taxation.

No, there are way too many kids heading off to college who have no business being there. I know, I've taught them. I don't way to pay for their 4 years of partying and barely-passing grades. I think education should cost you for the bachelors, and then if you want to pursue a higher degree, THAT one should be less expensive or free. These are the kids (adults at that point) who put in the work to do well in college and have some ambition.

Fortunately for me, many PhD programs ARE free - and even pay YOU to attend!

I am not going to justify that with a why not. That is just a really stupid idea. I mean seriously if you can't see why that is a bad idea, then you probably aren't getting into college anyway.
