I don't have much family around to help me with my corset,my dress and I need some help with things..do you think its bad luck for my soon to hubby to see my wedding dress,I mean I need someone to lace the corset and zip my dress,I need to see how it all going to fit and I just wanna know if its bad luck for him to see the wedding dress?

No, but it does ruin the surprise. =(

I personally think it's neat when the groom goes dress shopping with the bride... while it means he sees the dress she'll be wearing, he doesn't see it ALL together. You should be able to try on the dress with your undergarmets and veil at the bridal shop. They'll need you to at your fittings anyway.

For trying EVERYTHING on all at once, use your bridal photos as a trial run for dress, hair, makeup, etc. If your mother or sister or whoever won't be available to help you on that day, ask a friend. If you REALLY don't know anyone, ask the photographer, the photographer's wife (if he's a guy), or see if they work with an assistant. A lot do, and many are used to this kind of thing.

From what I understand, the superstition has nothing to do with the groom seeing the bride wearing her dress. The superstition is that the groom and the bride are not supposed to see each on the day of the wedding until the ceremony begins.

Either way, I think we make our own luck, and I don't think that having your fiance zip you into a wedding gown is going to influence your future marriage in any way.

No, it's not really bad luck, but it is a really neat tradition. Him not having seen your dress just makes your big entrance a lot bigger.
