a nice camera? I am just asking this because there are some people I know that say if you don't have a nice camera, you are a crappy photographer. But honestly, I think you have to be creative the in the pictures you take to be considered a "good photographer". I would like to hear other people's thoughts, too!

Could you win the Indy 500? Could Jeff Gordon win it in a stock VW? I think it's a little of both. The worlds best camera will not make a terrible photographer good. While a great camera will help a great photographer.

Well they have been making professional cameras since the early 1900's. And they only get better. So by now, everybody should have a totally professional camera by early 1900's standards. I mean some of those cameras only had 3 or 4 shutter speeds and no zoom lenses and not that wide of apertures, but they were pro cameras. Now, even a decent point and shoot has tons of shutter speeds, a few apertures, and a heck of a zoom range, yet people still take crappy pics. Heck, the camera will even pick all the settings for you if you want. Even the ISO which many of the pro's from the early 1900's didnt have much choice over.

Honestly, its the photographer.

Its not the camera that makes a photograph, it is the photographer. The camera is merely a tool.
