No, you get paid while you're in. When you're out, you get paid a housing allowance + college tuition, and you can still get free medical care in many cases (I have free medical/dental for life because I deployed.) You'll also have an honorable discharge, which looks amazing on a resume and will give you "veterans points" (+10%) to any government job that requires you to take a test (such as police departments).
The only way to get paid after you're done active duty is if you retire.
