-verse 4:137 refers to the Apostates during the time of Prophet Muhammad. This should be proof that noone was killed on the account of Apostasy alone. All though people have gotten this misconception from one of Prophet Muhammads hadiths or sayings where he says: . . . Whoever changes his religion kill him.
People often tend to misinterepret hadiths. So I suggest to all people wether muslim or non-muslim. Seek knowledge before verifiying anything especially anything that sounds Bad or that concerns Belief in Islam. Before attributing anything bad to Islam look at the meaning of this religion, this religion means ''Peace''. Those who are scared of Islamic law, I think Islamic law is only allowed to be enforced upon Muslims under Islamic law.
Threatening or Promising to kill someone to go back to Islam can be considered complusion in faith. Therefore Islam is for ''Freedom of Religion''. My opnion as a muslim I am against it, as Kufir(Disbelief) is the only thing that is not punishable by anyone but God. Meaning only God can punish them for such.

only Apostasy out of High Treason such as Joining enemy combatants or fighting against fellow muslims or any act of Hostility is punishable under Islamic Law. The Low Treason would be commiting Apostasy alone which is only punishable by God.
