We writers always worry about having our work plagiarised, but I'm not so sure it's really an issue.
a) it assumes our work is fantastic and original enough that someone would want to steal it.
b) a plagiarist would still have to write the rest himself, which is a lot of work. Can your average Yahoo Answerer really be bothered? Most of them are teens and dreamers (no offence - those aren't bad things!) and most writers are already involved in their own ideas.
c) from an idea given or a short excerpt, the rest of the plagiarist's work would most likely turn out completely different.
d) if you've posted your excerpt or idea online and it IS plagiarised, you could go back and prove you posted it and someone copied it!
