XHTML. It's HTML but much more rigid. They work exactly the same, except XHTML enforces 'well-formedness' and makes sure that what you specify is what you mean. You leave nothing up to the discretion of the browsers (which is often where browser quirks can come in) and end up with a functional and cleanly coded website.
