...financial plan...? ...for after you win?
When you buy a power ball or lotto ticket do you do it with your absolute intention to win? Or do you just absent mindedly pick one up when you are paying for your biweekly gasoline? I watched a program about people who had won! This led me to really ponder about why do I even buy the ticket if I don’t intend on winning and if I do intend on winning what is 'My Actual Plan' – what would I actually do? So I thought out a very detailed and thoughtful financial plan for what I would do if I really won: who I would call first, like my attorney because I would want to remain anonymous. How I would divide it within my family- listing the people I would share it with and how. Who I would keep it a secret from - law permitting (it’s a joke honey). I figured out the % of taxes that would be taken out, and how I would safely invest it, and what charities I would give to, etc. I think most people just think about the ‘frivolous stuff’ they would buy. I found that it was a lot of work to plan.
