Do you need to take Pre-Calc before going into AP Stats?

I'm currently a sophomore. I got an A in Algebra 1 during middle school, an A in Geometry during freshman year, and an A (so far) in Algebra 2 during my current year. Next year, I have the option of taking Pre-Calc or AP Stats. For Pre-Calc, Algebra 1 and Geometry are the required pre-requisites and for AP Stats, Algebra 2 is the only required pre-requisite. Would it help to take Pre-Calc before I take AP Stats or can I go right into AP Stats? Is there a lot of Pre-Calc involved in AP Stats? How hard is AP Stats? Does it involve more Algebra or Geometry? Also, Trig isn't offered at my school so I can't take that. Thanks!
