Do you need to register or have membership with Viz or Tokyopop to...?

To purchase any manga volumes off their site? I've had trouble locating a couple volumes of Maison Ikkoku and found some affordable copies on the Viz site.

I'm not looking for anything on Tokyopop at the moment, but I figured I'd get that question out of the way.
 
I ordered some ZoiRAB DVRAB off of Viz's site back when they were first releasing Chaotic Century and I didn't have to register, though I don't know if they've changed or not. Tokyopop I have no idea.
