Do you need to provide personal info to apply for college and scholarships?

Mainly social security. I know about transcrips and I'm assuming a reseme. I feel uncomfortable giving my soc because one of my friends got her identity stolen why applying for an art scholarship :/

Also, do you know any art scholarships avalable??? Visual arts, fashion or graphic design?
