Do you need to know... It Turns Out OK!

Do you need to know that a film turns out ok in order for you to enjoy it?!

When I was in California in May, it had all the clips on US tv and posters everywhere for 'The Lakehouse' - Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock.
I really wanted to see this film, but things transpired at home and I did not get to see it at the local cinema - not least the fact that it was only there for 2 bloody weeks!
Anyhow... it is now on DVD, so rented it last night.
I think it was pretty obvious that
Keanu Reeves' character dies right at the beginning of the film and Sandra Bullocks doctor character fails to save his live - hence, why they have this special connection through time - 2 years apart
But, I wasn't sure if it was only me who got that, as I'm excessively analytical about film stories and guess every ending ever (ish). But no! My daughter thought that too. Anyway, it really spoiled my enjoyment of the film, because I really needed to nkow if it worked out the way I wanted it to. was it a happy or sad ending?
I almost paused the DVD and came on here to ask - 'The Lakehouse, happy or sad ending?'!!
So, I spent the entire bloody film angst ridden and worried... was it sad or happy? I almost did not care which, I just needed to know in order to enjoy it!
Have you watched a film that made you so want to know the end that it spoiled the film?
I remember watching Silence of the Lambs on video and pressing fast forward play for the bit when
she had the night vision glasses on, which all turned out ok, phew!
My nan used to read the last pages of a book before embarking on the novel! Perhaps it's genetic!!
Have you ever fast forwarded or been in this situ? What film?

Not with films. I sometimes fast-forward to find the good bits, or to see how it ended, but that's when I don't think it is good enough to watch properly.

With some TV programmes I sometimes like to know the ending. Eg with The Apprentice it can help to know which team wins and who gets blamed, when you are watching them at it. Otherwise you are relying on your memory in the boardroom segments.
