I do not own a Ford Ranger, but when I was in the market I preferred the Toyota Tocama. The Rangers has a poor reliability record, while the Tacoma V4 is well above average.
The best facts are at a big book store with consumer guides and other similar sources on the ratings of the trucks.
Then I'm sorry that there is no American Market trucks like the Chevy Luv pickup. It was similar size to the Ranger, but came with a diesel engine. It was durable and got much better mileage. And many visits to the Chicago Auto Show had no Truck dealers with similar trucks, now or later.
