I think they are okay, but I honestly don't get the hype. A lot of people want to compare the Vampire Diaries to Twilight, but I think that the books are on totally different levels. When it comes to technical writing skill, LJ Smith has the upper hand on Stephenie Meyer. But when it comes to plot, as sketchy as Twilight can be in points, the Vampire Diaries have plot twists that make even LESS sense. I won't spoil it for those of you who have not read the series and are planning to, but those of you who are caught up...you know what I am talking about. I think that a lot of people only like the Vampire Diaries because of the show--which I think is WAY better than the book series, by the way. What do you guys think of them?
