Black Light

It's dark in here
I like it this way
It's dark in here
Please let me stay

For in this mode where light doesn't shine
I can keep to myself these thoughts I find
Safe and free from pestering eyes
Allowing me to keep my disguise

Here alone I sit, stew and simmer
Surfacing never not for even a glimmer
Of the light that blinds me
the light that reminds me
the light that confines me
the light that unwinds me

where you can see me torn and unraveled
where you can see tortured trails I have traveled
where you can see me distorted disheveled
where you can see my foundation unleveled

It’s dark in here
I like it this way
It’s dark in here
