I once read a story years ago, and I want to read it again, but I don't remember what it's called. It's about these two high school girls, who are best friends that go to a party, and crush on the same guy. They then both date him at the same time until he can decide which one he wants to be with, kinda like a a polygamy (I don't know if I'm using that term correctly) relationship. He ends up breaking up with the main character, and dating her friend. They stop being friends after that, but he dumps the best friend after a while, and they become friends again.
The other little details I know is that they like to cordinate their outfits, one would wear a pink sweater and a gray skirts, and the other would wear a pink skirt and gray sweater. The story took place in the 80s or 90s, and it was an Apple Paperback. The edition I have has the two girls giggling in the shower on the cover, clothed, because that's how the story ended.
