Lately it seems there's a lot of confusion about what exactly a communication degree is - no one seems to be able to describe it or what it studies, and when I try to explain my major to people, sometimes I don't know what to say, and I'm the one in the program. I feel like I have a good grasp on what my own program is, obviously, but it's hard explaining it to people.
So I was just wondering, for the average person, if you were asked what a communication degree is, what would your guess be?
If there's any communication majors out there - do you find that people look kind of confused when you tell them what you major/majored in? And how would you describe a comm degree?
