I don't know the poet, as I read it when I was at junior school.
It's about a child thinking about how their grandfather or other male relative is colourblind, and how they get red and green mixed up. They mention a book with a coloured cover I think.
Then, they start talking about the red fields of France (?), covered in green blood, and how it must have looked to this person.
It's really annoying me, I can't find it anywhere!
