You get your circle of friends together, each with paper, something to bear down on, and a pen. One person gets out the dictionary, with their paper and pen. That person finds a word, calls it out, makes sure nobody knows what it means, gives its part of speech and spelling. Everybody writes it down. Person with the dictionary writes down what it means. Everybody else writes down their guesses, folds their papers in half, and passes it around to the person with the dictionary.
Person with dictionary opens each, makes sure each is legible, then one by one reads each aloud.
If you guess the dictionary definition, 5 points. If somebody guesses your definition, 3 points. Score is kept by whoever held the dictionary, all the papers are passed out again, everybody scratches through the first definition on the page, and the dictionary is passed to the next person. You play to a hundred points.
