Do you have to hear a sharp "crack" upon hitting the ball to ensure you hit a good shot?

When I practice at home, I always hear a sharp "crack" when I hit the tee and it goes backwards. However, if I hit my tee and it goes high into the air, does it mean my actual shot with the golf ball will also react the same way as the tee?
