I am an app developer for the Android OS. I am researching an idea I have for an app and was wondering - if I want to quote a book or a movie, can I do so without some sort of copyright violation? I just want to make sure before I invest a lot of work into an app that will be considered "illegal." For example, if I wanted to post a small section from a modern fiction book, could I do so and simply give credit to the book and author?
