Do you have to get the data plan if you get the Samsung Rogue?

I really want this phone, but I can't get it if I have to pay for a data plan, because I wouldn't be using the features of it anyway. So is it possible to get the phone with my current plan? I have unlimited texting, and I share minutes with my brother and dad.

I got the Samsung flight and they gave me a deal to take the data plan for one month then call to have it remove. I got the phone for almost nothing. However it doesn't support what I had in mind to use it for.
The phone is preset for a lot of different things I don't need.
