We have 3 children (13,8,and almost 2) and have just completed our homestudy to adopt a sibling group through DSS, we currently have a Dodge Caravan but do not want the children to be squished in, 1 child per seat belt... I'd rather them have a little more space than that. We believe God does not want us to borrow money, and have found a larger vehicle that we can pay cash for.
Now that you know the reason we are looking into buying one, we are looking at a 1992 Ford Club Wagon for our family. The interior is in almost-new shape, all the fabric is amazingly intact and clean, not really worn at all, the carpet is in good overall shape with a few stains I'm sure I can get out, the body has a few chips off the paint here and there that I can easily fix. The engine is quiet and sound, the transmission shifts well, the air conditioning works, but the rear air is iffy at times and it significantly blows less when you hit the gas, but my husband thinks it's an easy fix (he's a technician). The side door catches and the rear door won't open, but the dealer says he will fix those before we buy it. The price on it is $3950 but he said he will accept my cash offer of $3500. So if you've had one, what do you think?
