Do you have a full time office job as a PHP developer?

I cannot really imagine how it works. If you have such an office job, do you drive to work and get briefed on what has to be done, and are left alone? Are you able to use references online? Is an a-hole boss in your face non-stop asking you to do the impossible or else you are fired? I know all of the php basics, but sometimes I run into functions that I have never done before that seem confusing and I have to look it up. Are you allowed to do the same? Because all of the php ads I looking for hiring people say that you have to know php, mysql, AJAX, joomba (whatever that crap is called), cakephp, javascript, etc. I just don't want to embarrass myself by applying since I do not think I will ever memorize how to do every single thing with php, especially those complex arrays and preg_replace functions. I know a great deal of them, but it seems like clients always want the most complex features.

I have been working from home for years as freelance, but lately people want a huge script with a billion features, and they send you about 100 emails per day, all for $25 dollars which is totally unreasonable. You could make more money working at Mcdonald's. So that is why I am considering working as a corporate slave again, at least I know I will be getting a certain amount on payday instead of freaking out when I do not make any money. I am afraid since when I used to work a 9-5, I remember having no freedom, was never "awake", half-sleep with a migraine 24/7, could only get personal things done on Sunday, just to race home to get ready to be a slave again.

i dont think you can learn pho,or html scripting if u dont even use ur thoughts on what u are doing...before u make anything u just have to think from where it comes and how its made? what is structure of that thing so then u can learn so much u can learn a lot from urself than learning anything from any teacher

I spend most of my day coding in perl. I'm always googling for code examples or looking up functions.

I don't think anyone expects a developer to fully know everything. They just expect you to produce the required code. How you generate it is up to you.
