I did. We'd been friends since we were kids, like 6 years old. We grew up together and for several of my younger years he was my best friend. As we got older I began to like him as more than a friend but never told him. When I was 20 we still were not more than friends although I sometimes wondered if he thought of me as more, just little things he would say or do. I would have been thrilled to be his girlfriend. I secretly liked him but was too scared to tell him. Everybody thought we would end up together, we were so similar. Finally I worked up the nerve to ask him if we'd ever be more than friends and he gently said no. What a let down! But it made me realize he wasn't the only man out there. I am now with my soon-to-be husband and couldn't be happier!
