Do you "forget" your medication?

Hey everyone,

I put the quotation marks on "forget" for a reason... do you ever think you didn't take your medication? I have two different ones... I wake up, and that is one of the first things I do in 30 minutes. But there have been times where I have wondered "Did I take them?!" I think it's because it's become so routine for me that I don't really pay attention while I'm taking them (Robotic, kind of like when you turn and turn off a light). I've had this problem for a while now and it can be stressful. Sometimes I'll take the medications with me to work just in case I didn't take them... but everything turns out fine so I know that I did take them. What way do you keep track of taking your medication? I'm kind of like this about different things: Did I lock the door??? Did I turn off the light before I left? Is the fridge door closed completely (I can't just shut the door, I have to push it against the compartment to ensure that it is closed securely) Did I feed my cats? Did I leave the hair straightener on? All of these things intensify my anxiety. My anxiety has been manageable through medication and therapy. I just need tips on these everyday worries.

This is what I do. The easiest way to remeraber if you took your pills or not, is to use a 7 day pill box. Then, if you have any doubts as to whether you took your pills, just look in the box to see if the pills are gone. As far as remerabering if you did all your other daily routines, just write them down on a small piece of paper as you do them. Take the list with you and if you have any doubts, look at the list.

The 7 day pill box... duh! I don't know why I didn't think of that. As far as writing stuff down, makes me feel crazy! But I guess some people "without anxiety" feel like they forgot something, but they don't worry about it all day long.
