education while in prison? After visiting and communicating with some inmates in the federal prison system I was shown that there are no prospects or programs in a lot of prison to help these people change.
There are GED programs but if you already have your high school diploma then what? There are Drug programs - but if you are not a drug abuser then how does this program benefit you - also I have been told there are more drugs inside the prison than outside - so having a drug program is a joke.
My feeling is that educated people make better choices and this will help them not return and be reprogramed, of course there are some that are educated but those are usually white collar crimes and their greed and egos are at fault and there are some who will never change. But should they have the opportunity?
