Do you feel sad that all the cartoons/shows you watched as a kid are now over?

I know that, dude. I was just pointing out that JLU has run on Boom for more than just 1 year. I know; I've had Boomerang since 2005.

I don't think that JLU being in the same continuity as B:TAS means that it's a 90's series either. While the two series are connected, it doesn't mean that the later series is a 90's cartoon. There's also a pretty loose connection between the two series. Plus, in the post that I quoted, you said The Batman, not Batman: The Animated Series, which is why I was confused with your initial statement.

I personally don't want to see a whole lot of older cartoons being shown but I'm just saying maybe show like 2-3 older shows every once in awhile that were very popular like Hey Arnold or Rocko's Modern Life.

I actually like some of the 00's cartoons. Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy is one I reallly like, Fairly OddParents is good and a few others.

I think as a whole the 1990's had the best cartoons because there were so many different shows and a variety that had a little bit of everything for everyone.

Agree to disagree......

I know that The Batman and Batman: The Animated Series are two different shows. The loose connection I was talking about was about the connection between B:TAS and JLU. Unless I read that both series take place in the same universe, I probably wouldn't know that from watching both series. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear enough in my post. That happens sometimes. I actually enjoy both series. The Batman didn't have a great start, but I thought that it generally improved over time.

Er, you call "The Batman" overrated while you have no problem overrating JLU like a typical fanboy?

Agreed. KJ Styles, you're sounding like the typical fanboy for whom "mediocre" means "not part of the DCAU". "The Batman" was a good show; not perfect by any means, but quite good. And several of Season 4's episodes were on par with BTAS' best episodes, IMHO.

O-k, I will try to summarize it like this: I will leave spaces to avoid confusion.

"I don't get this. How can you say that you detest Animaniacs and then say it's not terrible? Doesn't "I detest it" mean that you think it's terrible? Or am I just misunderstanding?"

It is not the same thing, but maybe detest is not the appropriate word to use. I meant to say that while I strongly do not care for "the Animaniacs" (i.e. never watch it even if I had the chance, never buy any merchandise such as toys or DVDs, etc), it is not entirely a bad show, but at the same time, is a show I do not care that much for, am I making sense?

"dude...yer honestly lumping adult animated shows in with shows that are meant for children/the whole family?

I honestly wouldn't recommend that, because they're both aiming for different audiences entirely.

It's like asking "why can't the Wild West COW Boys of Moo Mesa aim for the same level of sophistication that King of the Hill goes for". Two entirely different demographics, good sir....

And yes, I do enjoy both shows."

I like all sorts of shows, no matter what the audience, and there are many shows out there that appeal to children and adults alike, not just solely the other. I will give you two examples, "the Brave Little Toaster" and "the Real Ghost Busters", there are some things in them that mostly appeal to children or older kids, but there are also some things adults will appreciate, maybe the humor, maybe the context, I do not know. Remember, the audience of cartoons are not so easy to depict, as say horror movies or dramas, because while watching cartoons is mostly associated with children or older kids, cartoons have been developed for adults, as well, and if not solely for adults, then for children and adult alike. Maybe the best example would be the ever popular T.V. show, "Spongebob Squarepants."

"This post confuses me. First, you claim that "old" cartoons were better than "new" cartoons without specifying what "old" means (like, are you saying that cartoons from all previous decades were better than 00's cartoons or are you referring to some specific era?). And your list of "good" and "bad" cartoons are so utterly subjective that i really wish you would have said something like "in my opinion" rather than just presenting these shows as objective examples of good and bad shows (specifically since you didn't give any kind of reason for why the listed shows are good or bad). And, seriously, while i know that the notion of what is and isnt of "quality" is a completely subjective thing, i just cant get over the fact that you take a show like TMNT as an example of a good "old" show, an The Simpsons as an example of a bad one. I can understand that you personally have an affinity for TMNT but not for The Simpsons but still, trying to argue that TMNT is actually a better show? Im sorry, but i just cant allow something like that to go by unchallenged."

By old, I mean anything from very early to 80s, maybe early 90s, and new, late 90s (specifically 98-99) to now, and this is not a comparison, this is an optional thread, and I am not trying to tell you which shows to like and dislike, I am just listing what shows I like and what shows I do not. I am also not trying to say, "the Simpsons are so terrible, I hate them, they are so awful! Bart is a brat, Homer is an alcoholic fatso, etc." I am just giving my opinion about the show, and if you still cannot comprehend this, then I am sorry mate, but you are the one who needs help.

Looneytunes/Disneytoons

Edited: by the way, I think Homer Simpson is hilarious, and is in my opinion is the best of the Simpsons. I also like Itchy and Scratchy, and I love the games, "the Simpsons - Bart's Nightmare", "the Simpsons - Virtual Bart", and "the Simpsons - Hit and Run", though I care more for the contexts of the game (what they are about) than the Simpsons themselves.

I also love "Pinky and the Brain", by the way, but anyway.
