that will depend on the person posting the questions and the person giving the answers. some are true and some are not. but just let it rock!

Well if a question calls for you to have an opinion then why wouldnt you give that opinion ? A lot of questions on YA do ask for people to say what they think about certain topics and as such means someone is interested in knowing that opinion, so to answer your question yes YA is a place to give and discuss opinions ... if thats what the asker wanted from their question.
On the other hand it would be wrong to offer an opinion on a question which simply asks for a fact or a negative or positive response to something.
As people who generally all have our own opinions on things we dont much like to read through other peoples opinions on things we have already made our minds up about, but is it not debate that creates change ? I must admit i am rigid in my opinions about alot of things but before i read peoples opinions and simply give them the thumbs down i at least give them the courtesy of thinking through their answer.
