People have no problem with keeping marijuana illegal, so why not ban cigarettes, etc. since they cause severe health problems? I think it's a little hypocritical...

And yet we have prohibition of marijuana... Alcohol does not have the same type of detrimental health effects that smoking does. I'm just saying it's a bit hypocritical...

I don't think her answer is simplistic... I think she has a good point. Also think of the health savings we would have if we could reduce the number of tobacco-related illnesses...

By the way, I tend to lean libertarian on the issue... I would have no problem with legal tobacco and legal marijuana, for example... I'm just saying, since people are willing to keep marijuana illegal, she kind of has a point...
