Do you agree with the mother or do you agree with the school and why?

Change schools or cut his hair. What kind of example is the mother setting when she tells her own son that he's so special he doesn't have to follow the same rules as everyone else. She knew the rules before she put him in that school. Sounds like Mom is just another attention whore.

I agree with the mother because what a stupid rule. Schools are allowed to teach and expose our children to homosexuality but a boy can't have long hair? Ridiculous. I'd rather my son see every crazy hairstyle on the planet and more before he knew what homosexuality was. My only thing would be if there was a clear written rule on hair and if the mother knew she was breaking that rule when she sent her son to school. I wouldn't have allowed it if I knew there was a rule and if I really cared I would find a school that didn't care.

I agree with neither one. The school shouldn't dictate the hair. But the parents are being stupid - come on - braids making his head bleed????
They both should grow up.

I agree with the mother. If it is not a school that enforces uniforms, why enforce hair? I can understand if it's a military school where hair needs to be short... but in this situation it is ridiculous. Just another form of control.

I agree with the mother. Hair is such a non-issue. The school board is just hurting the boy by keeping him on in school suspension.

It's utter nonsense.

Our homeschooled daughter has a few pink streaks in her hair and you would not believe the number of strangers who have said, "I'm surprised her school allows that."

All the best.
