Do you agree with NTP's plethora of lawsuits against big boys like Microsoft, Apple,

AT&T, Sprint, Google, etc? The list goes on and on. I love it. While Apple loves to be an anti-competitive thorn against Google and Adobe (think Flash) and other competitive corps, how does Apple feel now? Oh, and Apple, I wouldn't smile on that $1B Nokia lawsuit against you. There's more where that came from.

NTP is suing a barrage of large corps like Apple, Microsoft, AT&T, Sprint, Google, Motorola, etc for infringing on their patent for wireless emails. NTP already won its 2006 case against Blackberry maker RIM for $673M for the same infringement. I hope NTP wins. It's only right! What if someone or some company infringes on your intellectual property? What would you do, and how would you feel?

A patent for wireless emails it utterly ridiculous. By slapping a patent on NTP a year before someone else would have done the same thing, NTP didn't really contribute anything to society. Who thinks if they hadn't filed their patent application that we wouldn't still have wireless email? I sure don't.

The patent system was originally created to encourage investment and creative thinking. It is now just being abused by businesses that slap a patent on something completely obvious. Amazon.com's "one click shopping" is another good example of patent trolls at work.

This is why I believe patent laws, and the patent system in general, need to be reformed.
