...counter-productive? 1st of all: It would cost a fortune. In this time of budget crisis, that is completely absurd.
but even if it was affordable: It's still counter-productive.
If kids work work work with little to no free time; then the time they spend in school would be LESS productive as they have LESS energy to accomplish and learn.
If they try to learn while they are exhausted; IT WON'T WORK.
Increasing the amount of time spent in school would decrease the quality of an education.
