Do we really need so many lawyers -- 3 times the doctors we have in the U.S.?

Medical schools graduate about 16,000 doctors a year, but law schools graduate three times as many lawyers.

Is the a waste of the human resources we have in this country?
 
Apparently there's a market for attorneys or people wouldn't go into the field. Are you proposing that we force people into certain careers? That's really the only way, beyond offering free medical educations, that people would be pushed into medicine in higher numbers.
