I have visions of the GLC for some reason when I think of Ken Livingstone. Since Labours on the way out anyway do we really need a post which has so far introducing charges for driving in the capital, and his latest brainwave is to build 80000 new places for housing. My Q is where ken? Its a joke post in my opinion ideal for boris, just get him kitted out as a clown and he's perfect. Views please.
that lovely lady is HMQ show some respect. Actually she's patron of more charities than you'll ever be.

Some cities have a city manager and a council, but I don't think they work any better.

I don't live in London. But I think all cities of the world have some government, like some mayor or city manager. Whether New York City, or some town in Africa. So London is no different. Of course, it is up to the people in London to decide what do to with their mayor. I have enough worrying mine here in some place in USA.

not me,what does a mayor do?
apart from prancing around wearing a gold chain?

no because England has the 'lovely ' little lady who sits on her high horse and does zilch for the country but wave and Taalks lieeek thiiis . heellooo theree i aam the Queeen.

of course get a mayor , may not get rid of the queen yet, but its a start.

BTW i didn't read your question just the title :D

I just think of Dick Whitington when I hear of the Lord Mayor of London! Sorry!

i think London should have a mayor to solve more general problems with London such as in traffic, crime and environment, we cant let Gordon Brown do everything though sometimes it would be more logical.
