The colonialists wanted to abolish slavery while under English rule only to be veto by King George. When we gained Independence the right wanted to abolish slavery only to be over ridden by Southern Democrats. The right got a provision that all new states would be free states. The Democrats later over turned that law in the 1830's so more states could be slave states. A Republican Abe Lincoln fought a war to free slaves. It was Ike who protected Blacks from Southern Democrats. It was a Republican President Eisenhower who stopped the segregation in the military. The civil right movement was stated by the right and took over by the left. The right wanted them treat everyone equally while the left wanted to just give blacks special privileges. The left continue to treat black people as victims rather than equals. The right always wanted to treat blacks as equals in fair competition In my opinion the left black "leaders" are keeping their own slaves to the government and are doing so for votes. what say you?--What black history would you like to add?
