Do we need a new CFPA that will start putting consumers’ needs over the financial industry’s greed. With a lot of work, we've passed laws to make cars and toys safer; but there are no similar consumer protections when it comes to financial products, as the recent mortgage meltdown has shown.
Of course the financial institutions don’t want any new rules. They claim things are just fine the way they are which is exactly how we got in this economic mess in the first place.
