Do universities look at 10th grade marks?

During 10th grade, I took a university-placement program and was completely unprepared from the lack of work done in 9th grade. I ended up doing rather poorly (70% average).
In grade 11, I switched into an advanced placement program, which is basically the same academics on a less rigorous timetable, and I am one of the top in my class. Will my bad grade 10 year affect my chances on getting into a great school?
 
they do concentrate a lot on 10th and 11th grades, but if they see that u've improved fro 10th to 11th, they usually see that as a good thing since it means u can recognize ur shortcomings and correct them
